Since I haven’t fished every river in every state, I need your help. If you have a river you’d like to see information for, please comment below. I would be more than happy to gather as much information as possible. I’m trying to get the popular rivers across the country, but I know there are a lot more that I’m not even close to being familiar with.
UPDATE:
Thanks for the suggestions, version 2 should be out shortly, I’m just cleaning some things up and trying to make the new version look pretty.
One of the big features being built into the new version is a place for pictures of the bugs! Problem is coming up with those pictures. With the going rate on pictures these days, it will be thousands of dollars to get pictures of the fly’s in the application. If anyone would like their photo’s of bugs published in the app, I’d be happy to include credits/watermarks, whatever.
Thanks,
Cory

Hi Cory
I’ve just purchased the full version after looking through the lite version. I see potential in your application, as this is almost what I envisioned as a fly fisher person’s go to “Bible”. Here are some features that I like to see.
1. Information on specific hatch time (6am – noon etc.) for that region (or river/lake would be sweet!) . I have most of these information in books, but I would rather have it on my i-touch / iphone and not having to be on-line to find this information.
2. Picture of actual insect at their development stages, imitation fly photos is nice to have but it’s not a must have. Since you’ve already provided names, it’s good enough.
3. Maybe you can generalize hatches for each State first the build in more rivers as you go… At least you’ll capture interests from those region/States. I live in San Jose, CA and I would love to see more info on Eastern Sierra rivers and lakes.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Joe
The Provo River in Utah would be a great addition. It is a great river for flyfishing and there is a lot of information available on the web about hatches, I would like to see this river added. For a concise list of hatches see http://www.fishwest.net/utah/hatchcharts/hc_provo.htm
Thanks
Hey Cory,
This is a great idea. I am having trouble with getting the app to fully down load. It appears to be frozen on one window. Any suggestions.
Thanks,
Evan
Hey Evan,
Have you tried pressing the ‘i’ in the lower right corner? Also, make sure you have the newest version as I had made some changes to make the ‘i’ button work a little better.
Stay tuned for version 2.0 that will be coming soon. There is some added functionality and some cool new features coming.
Thanks for the download.
Cory
Hi there. This looks like a great app. Any plans for coverage for Colorado, Blue river, and South Platte rivers?
Thanks, Scott
Hey Scott,
The rivers are slated to be in the next version. Version 2.0 will not only have a revamped interface, but at this point I’m up to 16 states and over 120 rivers.
Thanks for the commend and the download!

Also several for West Virginia.

Looks like you may be able to cross reference for all your states.
I did a brief review of your app on my new site http://flyfishingsherpa.com/the-hatch-2-for-fly-fishing-theres-an-iphone-app-for-that/. I am just getting started. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.
Thanks for the app. I hope my review brings more interest and support for you/Hatch 2.

Please add for Southern California: Deep Creek, Bear Creek, and the Santa Ana River. The two creeks are the only protected wild trout creeks here, and Bear Creek dumps off into the stocked Santa Ana River.
Thanks
