Targeting Bull Trout

| Posted in Fishing |

1

A couple weeks ago I got out on the Metolius in search of some bull trout.  The Kokanee were in spawn mode, the bull’s were just done with spawning and that is generally a good combination.  I hit the usual spots and landed a few decent trout.  Streamers and egg patterns worked well.

I picked up one of those camera’s that can go underwater, so I played with taking pictures of a few of the Kokanee that were spawning.  I wish the camera wasn’t so automatic, it’ll be interesting to learn the nuances of it.  No pictures of the bulls, but one showing a nice bend in the 8weight.

Nice photo with the multiple fish. Those Kokanee are funny on the Metolious. They sit right behind your leg while you hunt for the trout.
